Eco Marine Explorer
Experience the beauty and splendour of Cortes Island and learn about the inter-tidal zones as you glide over reefs where an abundance of marine life waits to be discovered - seals, dolfins, blue herons, cormorants, sea cucumbers, seastars, nudibranchs, hermit crabs, sea urchins - just to name a few.
#1 We head from Smelt Bay over the reefs of Sutil Point where all the above intertidal life and more can be observed just a few feet below the surface. As we near the south end of the island bald eagles and deer can often be spotted along the shoreline and overhead.
This is our most popular trip and may be the most memorable experience of your vacation.
#2 Smelt Bay to Mansons Landing. We paddle along the shoreline observing the many interesting sites along the way. Highlights include an old dead maple tree with a teepee below and a couple of large rocks with petroglyphs of a carved whale, and many other interesting sights. We will paddle around two small islands before we head into Mansons Lagoon.
We have only mentioned two of our short trips. The possibilities are endless contact us for more info.
